Man denies harassing woman on social media
A Rutherglen man has been accused of harassing a woman by sending her over 11,000 messages on social media.
Graeme Kelly, of Limeside Avenue, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday ( September 1).
On various occasions between February 1, 2014, and December 1 2014, at the Glasgow School of Music on Jamaca Street, Limeside Avenue and elsewhere in Scotland, 24-year-old Kelly is accused of engaging in a course of conduct which caused the woman to suffer fear or alarm.
It is alleged he sent her approximately 11,000 messages via Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter social networking sites. He is also accused of threatening her, following the woman, staring at her and refusing to desist when requested to do so.
Between December 2 2014, and Februrary 2, 2015, at Limeside Avenue, Kelly is also accused of engaging in a course of conduct which caused the woman to suffer fear or alarm by persistently harassing her using social networking sites.
He is accused of committing the offence while on bail, he was granted bail on December 2, 2014 at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Kelly is also accused of breaking his bails conditions. When granted bail at Glasgow Sheriff Court on December 2, 2014, with the condition not to contact the woman in anyway, on January 10, 2015 at Limeside Avenue, Kelly is accused of contacting another person in an attempt to make contact with the woman in question.
Kelly pleaded not guilty and is due to reappear on September 16. Bail was continued.
