Cardle takes over at St Joseph’s
A Rutherglen man has been appointed as the new head teacher at an Ayrshire school.
Dan Cardle took over the running at St Joseph’s Academy in Kilmarnock last week.
A graduate of Glasgow University and St. Andrew’s College of Education, he started his teaching career in 1990, as a Maths teacher in St Columba’s in Clydebank.
His career has taken him to a number of schools, i n c l u d i n g Hol y rood Secondary.
Most recently he was depute head at St Ninian’s High School in Kirkintilloch, a post he held for 10 years.
Mr Cardle said: “Working in a number of different schools in different demographic areas, under different leaders, has given me the experience to take on the role as Head Teacher at this prestigious school and I’m looking forward to the task immensely.
“My main aim is to make sure we are meeting the needs of all of our pupils, no matter what their background or academic ability and I’m aware I cannot do this on my own.”
