Rep’s latest play is just murder

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Rutherglen Rep’s latest production will open at the Town Hall this weekend.

The amateur group will bring The Murder Committee to the stage on Friday, September 4, and Saturday, September 5.

Written and directed by Rutherglen Rep stalwarts Gerry McCarten and David Chapman, the Murder Committee is a humorous who-dunit set at the end of season soiree for the Wellington Players Drama Group.

Their evening of wine, sausage rolls and banal chat is interrupted by the arrival of a police inspector, and it doesn’t take long before the secrets of the party guests start to tumble out.

The Rep’s Angela Patrick said: “Gerry loves a who-dunit, so that’s part of the play, but there’s a lot of humour in there as well.

“There’s some twists too, but I can’t give away what any of them are!”

Tickets are on sale now for the Murder Committee, priced at £7 or £6 for concessions.

They’re available from the Town Hall in person, by calling 0141 613 5700 or online through www. slcboxoffice.co.uk
