Senior bowlers call it a day
Kirkhill Bowling Club said thank you to two special members at the weekend in the best possible fashion - by winning a trophy.
The club were crowned the Gemmill seniors trophy winners for the sixth year in a row.
The annual competition is played between Kirkhill, Halfway and Burnside on a home and away basis in five sets of triples.
It has been running for around 40 years, and always there to organise it is Peter Mullen and Tom O’Brien.
But this week was their swansong as organisers.
A spokesperson for the club said:“It is hard to believe but these two young yins with an total age of approximately a mere 175 years between them, plan to stand down and let others carry the mantle next year. They have done a tremendous job over the years.”
The pair are pictured here flanking Kirkhill President Roy Linder, with the Gemmill Cup.
