Area commander wants your help to stop crime

Rutherglen Reformer - - NEWS -

Chief Inspector Pat O’Callaghan wants to keep Reformer readers up to date with all that’s happening: Another busy weekend for local officers resulted in the following notable arrests;

Around 9pm on Friday, September 4 a 45-year-old male was arrested on Glasgow Road, Cambuslang for acting in a threatening manner and possession of an offensive weapon. The male was held in custody to appear at court on Monday ,September 7.

Around 4pm on Sunday, September 6 a 33-year-old man was arrested from Bute Road, Rutherglen for possession of an offensive weapon and acting in an aggressive and abusive manner towards police officers.

In addition, there has been a recent spate in thefts from motor vehicles over the past week, in particular from cars and vans that haven’t been locked. Accordingly, I would ask everyone to ensure that they lock at all times when parked up and that all possessions, particularly valuables are hidden from display.

To report any incidents to the police please contact telephone number 101 for anything that may be classed as a non-emergency and 999 in an emergency.
