Music is food of love for Rebekah
Teen’s performance leaves diners amazed
“She’s liking more rock bands - that might be the influence of me and her dad, because we’ve always loved rock music, so she’s had the likes of the Foo Fighters playing around her as she’s been growing up!
“There’s been really good feedback to some of her original songs - Jim Gellatly was praising it on Amazing Radio, and there’s been online radio stations who’ve played it, including some in America.
“We’re hoping there might be more interest coming from America too- she’s pretty pleased about how it’s going.”
The teenager is having to juggle her singing career with life at Trinity, while she’ll be temporarily out of action in October due to undergoing a hospital operation.
But her proud mum is sure she’ll be back soon.
“Rebekah has Idiopathic scoliosis (a spinal condition) so she’s having an operation, but will hopefully be singing again in December or January.
“She’s so dedicated to it, but is balancing it with her school work and being a teenager pretty well.
“It’s an exam year, so the music is a close second behind all that.
“She really loves that though - she’s got a music room that she just disappears into and writes and plays songs.”
