Fab fashion on show

Rutherglen Reformer - - ON THE CATWALK -

Rutherglen Exchange Shopping Centre brought a taste of Milan to the town on Saturday with their first ever fashion show.

Models, including some locals, wore clothing and accessories from the stores within the centre, while many nonclothing locals got involved too.

A fashion show took place at the same time with a great range of fashionable goodies to bring Autumn colour to our customers.

There were three red carpet shows; daywear, casual and leisure wear and finally evening wear. The centre also gave away a selection of prizes including Peacocks store vouchers, a Forget Me Not nail salon voucher and flowers from Lily of the Valley.

After the red carpet shows the models posed in store windows as live mannequins.

One Rutherglen lady, Sharon Campbell, said:“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the young man move in Officers Club window. I thought I was seeing things!”

Jane Cowan, centre manager, said:“We have many people to thank for the great work and effort that went into making this event a success including our own retailers, models Chloe and Layla Huskie, Catriona Gibson from Camglen Radio and,of course, our owners of the shopping centre, Moorgarth who sponsored the event.”
