The Re­former has en­joyed a free trip across Canada cour­tesy of a Cam­bus­lang fam­ily.

El­iz­a­beth and Roth Tate first took a no­tion for the Great White North when they met Al­bert and Lau­rie, a re­tired Cana­dian cou­ple who were on hol­i­day in Glas­gow.

From there the seeds were planted, and af­ter some ini­tial hum­ming and haw­ing on whether their chil­dren, Alex (15) and Sa­man­tha (12), could cope with the long flight, they took the plunge and booked up the trip.

They took another pas­sen­ger along with them how­ever - a copy of the Re­former - which they were to pho­to­graph dur­ing their trav­els across the North Amer­i­can coun­try.

The trip was three weeks in to­tal with the copy of the pa­per go­ing ev­ery step of the way, an es­ti­mated 10,000 miles, even if it was a bit dog eared at the end!
