Not guilty to cru­elty charge

A To­ry­glen woman has been ac­cused of caus­ing un­nec­es­sary suf­fer­ing to a dog.

Ni­cola McGin­ley (36), of Prospecthill Place, ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on Tues­day (Au­gust 28).

Be­tween March 31, 2011 and July 31, 2014, at Prospecthill Place and else­where in Glas­gow, McGin­ley is ac­cused of caus­ing the an­i­mal un­nec­es­sary suf­fer­ing.

It is al­leged she failed to se­cure proper vet­eri­nary treat­ment, in­clud­ing the sur­gi­cal re­moval of an eye and a tes­tic­u­lar tu­mour whereby the tu­mour spread, caus­ing oedema and in­fec­tion.

It be­came ul­cer­ated and was bleed­ing and the dog be­came ema­ci­ated.

McGin­ley main­tained a plea of not guilty and was or­dained to reap­pear for trial on De­cem­ber 14.
