Woman de­nies as­sault charge

A woman has been ac­cused of com­mit­ting an as­sault in Ruther­glen.

Gail Gri­er­son, of Gair­doch Street in Falkirk, ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on Mon­day (Septem­ber 7).

On April 7 this year at a flat in Green­hill Court, Gri­er­son (45) is ac­cused of as­sault­ing another woman by pulling her to the ground by her hair, punch­ing her on the body and bit­ing her on the breast.

Dur­ing the course of a jour­ney to Cath­cart Po­lice Of­fice and at the po­lice of­fice, Gri­er­son is ac­cused of be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing or abu­sive man­ner by shout­ing, swear­ing and ut­ter­ing threats of vi­o­lence.

Gri­er­son main­tained a plea of not guilty. She is due to reap­pear on Septem­ber 30. Bail was con­tin­ued.

Gri­er­son is ac­cused of com­mit­ting the of­fences while on bail. She was granted bail on March 30 at Falkirk Sher­iff Court.
