News in brief from around the lo­cal churches

Ruther­glen Old Parish Church will hold their next monthly cof­fee morn­ing this com­ing Satur­day, Septem­ber 12.

It will last from 10am un­til Noon, and all the pro­ceeds will go to Well­hall Care Home in Hamil­ton.

The church hopes to have some staff and res­i­dents with them.

Mem­bers of the public will also be most welcome to join us for Tea/Cof­fee and Bak­ing at a mod­est cost of £2.

Mar­malade, Tablet and cakes will be avail­able for sale, to en­joy at home. God is do­ing in the com­mu­ni­ties al­ready.

Lunch and work­shops are in­cluded.

A new ven­ture be­gin­ning in the church is a fel­low­ship group for men. Known ap­pro­pri­ately as‘The King’s Men’, this will be­gin on Septem­ber 10 at 7.30pm in the church hall. All welcome.

The Ladies’Car­pet Bowls Club also re­sumes this week. Open to all ladies, the club meets on Thurs­days at 1.30pm in the Iona Hall.

New mem­bers are welcome; no prior knowl­edge of the game nec­es­sary.

All mem­bers are asked to note that en­velopes for the Stew­ard­ship Gift Week­end can be re­turned to the church ei­ther on Satur­day, Septem­ber 12 from 10am to 12 noon or on Sun­day 13 at any of the Holy
