Team up to save cash on fuel bills
It’s estimated 70 per cent of us are paying the most expensive energy tarrifs - and mainly because the thought of switching seems too much like hard work.
Earlier this year the Competition and Marketing Authority said between 40 and 50 per cent of electricity customers have been with the same supplier for more than 10 years, in many cases because they are unaware of the better rates on offer and how to take advantage of them.
Now a new service available to our readers could save households up to £200 a year through a new collective model that draws strength from numbers.
iChoosr have been operating group buying schemes in parts of the UK since 2012, helping more than 77,500 households reduce their energy bills with a collective saving of over £15million.
The idea is a simple but effective one – energy customers register their interest in switching and answer a few questions about their current situation.
iChoosr then carry out an auction in which energy suppliers compete with their best rates for new customers.
Those who registered are then notified of the best tariff and how much they stand to save by moving – it’s then up to the customer to decide whether they want to switch or not.
The collective model takes the hassle factor out of switching by making the process a simple one.
