An organisation offering support to those who have lost a loved one is now meeting in Cambuslang every week.

The Cambuslang Bereavement Support Group have decided to meet once a week rather than the current set-up of the first and third Wednesday of each month.

Since being set up two years ago, the group have helped dozens of local people come to terms with the death of a family member or friend.

Co-ordinator Isobel Allan MBE said: “We offer listening and support services and this will make it easier for people to drop in so we can provide a safe venue for people to be able to talk about those they loved, whether it’s from the present or the past.”

The group meet between 10am and 12pm in the Morrison Room of Cambuslang Parish Church in Arnott Way every Wednesday, but Isobel is keen to point out they are not a church group.

She said: “You do not have to haeve a church connection to come along.

“It is very informal and confidential.

“People need a safe space, especially when they are very vulnerable.”
