Res­i­dents in Fern­hill were liv­ing in fear of ma­raud­ing gangs af­ter the scheme suf­fered a week­end of vi­o­lence, with booze-fu­elled thugs clash­ing on the streets and lo­cals duck­ing for cover.

Par­ents of Burgh pri­mary pupils were set to have more con­sul­ta­tion doc­u­ments drop­ping through their let­ter­boxes as the coun­cil looked set to take the next step in re­build­ing the school.
