A rising young Lanarkshire singer songwriter will next month perform an intimate acoustic gig in her hometown.

Lisa T has been growing in popularity locally and nationally with her vocal talents and song interpretation winning her rave reviews wherever she appears.

The 20-year-old civil servant from East Kilbride recently played her biggest gig to date supporting Baz Warne of The Stranglers fame, playing to around 250 people. She also opened for UK Country Duo of the Year Raintown before performing at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in the Highlands.

Lisa Thomson, a former pupil of St Hilary’s Primary and St Andrew’s and St Bride’s High School, returns to her roots playing East Kilbride’s Bonnie Prince Charlie pub on October 3 – a night of quality live music not to be missed.

The gifted acoustic guitarist, who also plays piano, is set to play an eclectic mix of Americana Country songs and her own original material.

Lisa told Lanarkshire Live: “It’s really exciting to bring this show to my hometown.

“I write and perform mainly country music and my biggest influences come from Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton and Miranda Lambert.

“I first got into country music when I was about 15. I went to piano lessons, and then discovered a love for singing. I performed at a few concerts in school, and then went on to complete my HND at The Academy of Music and Sound.

“I started gigging in EK first – I normally play the Westwood Bar, The Oystercatcher, TintoTapas and the Murray Bar. I also worked in a wedding band called Studio for nearly two years. My gig in the Charlie gives my audience a chance to hear my music up close and personal, as it can be sometimes difficult in a pub. I have a few new songs to debut on the night.”

Lisa’s EP, ‘LISA T’ will be on sale on the night for £5.

Support on the night comes from another talented young singer songwriter from Stonehouse, Shelby.

She will kick off the evening’s entertainment with her own unique brand of acoustic guitar music.

The energetic Darren Hutton, from East Kilbride, will also perform a mixed bag of popular covers and his own indie style music. Entry is £6 on the door or you can book tickets by texting Lisa T on 07985174743.
