Owners and their dogs enjoy fun family event
Owners and their dogs enjoyed a day of barkingmad fun in Cambuslang Park.
More than 180 dogs and their families took part in the third annual Bark in the Park event.
The fun day out on September 6 was organised by Project 31 and Friends of Cambuslang Park.
Project 31 also provided plenty of children’s art activities, a treasure hunt and a Guess the Dog’s Birthday competition.
Canine companions weren’t left out with their very own treatfilled treasure hunt, a fun agility course and lots of opportunities to shop for doggy accessories from a number of stalls.
There was also a range of other stalls including the Give a Dog a Bone charity, The Edward Foundation and the Avenues Vets .
Friends of Cambuslang Park kept the humans fed and watered with their tea tent and cupcakes.
The main attraction of the day was the dog show arena where a huge variety of breeds, shapes and sizes competed to take home a doggy prize and rosette.
Categories were brilliantly judged by Frances Shaw from the Avenues Vets and Michael Adams.
After much deliberation the following winners were declared.
Best 6 Legs - Rachel McGettrick and Skye the weimaraner.
Waggiest Tail - Jackie Valeta with Verity the black Labrador.
Dog Most Like Owner - Garry Pillans and Reggie.
Best Puppy - Nicola Green and Heidi the dachshund.

Lorna Bamford, Project 31 manager said Bark in the Park is truly one of our favourite days of the year.
“It’s a fantastic family event and for the third year running we’ve been delighted with the support we’ve had from dog owners, sponsors, stall holders and our excellent judges.
“We love seeing so many well behaved dogs and their owners enjoying the park and it was great to welcome lots of first time visitors.
It really is a day for all the family including the four-legged members and we’re already looking forward to next year.’
The Bark in the Park team want to thank all those who donated prizes and sponsored show categories.
