Rutherglen and Cambuslang residents are being asked to come forward to volunteer at their local Rainbow, Brownie or Girl Guide units.

No experience is necessary you just need enthusiasm and the desire to have fun.

A spokesperson said: “We have six Rainbow units, 10 Brownie units, seven Guide units and one Senior Section in various areas of Rutherglen and Cambuslang, some units are full to capacity and need some help.

“It would even be great to open more Rainbows units as there are long waiting lists for this age group ( five to seven).

“If you think you could help please go to www.girlguiding. org. uk enter your details and a representative from Rutherglen and Cambuslang Divisions will contact you.

“Girlguiding aims to help girls reach their full potential as citizens and improve their self confidence, and self esteem in a safe girl- only environment. We’d love to have you on board.”
