Police Scotland say extensive inquiries are continuing after a woman was robbed in the Cathkin area.

The woman was outside the William Hill bookies at 5.20am on Tuesday, September 15, when she was approached by two men.

They threatened her with weapons before assaulting her and taking her bag, which contained her car keys.

They then made off in her beige Citroen C4 vehicle which was last seen heading in the direction of the Cathkin bypass.

Inspector Jim Gillespie confirmed that the car and bag have not been recovered.

Police say the victim was not seriously hurt in what they describe as“a terrifying ordeal.”

Anyone with information should contact Cambuslang CID on 101 or alternatively telephone Crimestoppers on 08000 555 111 where calls can be in confidence.
