Writ­ers’ group is booked in again

Ruadh Gh­leann Writ­ers’Group held a work­shop on novel writ­ing in Ruther­glen Li­brary on Satur­day, Septem­ber 19.

Thir­teen peo­ple at­tended the work­shop led by poet and nov­el­ist, Brian Whit­ting­hame.

Those at­tend­ing did some writ­ing from fam­ily pho­to­graphs and were shown ex­cerpts from the film ‘An­gela’s Ashes’as an ex­am­ple of writ­ing di­a­logue.

The group ap­pre­ci­ated the as­sis­tance they re­ceived from Julie Smith, li­brar­ian, and her staff. Par­tic­u­lar thanks go to John for lay­ing out all the chairs, tea and cof­fee in ad­vance of the work­shop.

Ruadh Gh­leann will be run­ning another work­shop, on po­etry, on Satur­day, Novem­ber 21 in the Li­brary be­tween 12 and 3pm. Light re­fresh­ments will be served.

The speaker will be Tom Bryan, pub­lished poet and au­thor.
