Council agree weather service
South Lanarkshire Council are to take the lead in a re-constituted weather forecast partnership with 12 other authorities.
Councillors yesterday (Tuesday) agreed to continue the partnership up until May 2022.

The initial partnership was set up in 2003. The move will cost the council £40,000 a year but weather station upgrading is expected to be paid for by the new service provider.
The other authorities involved will be; Argyll and Bute, Dumfries and Galloway, East Ayrshire, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Glasgow, Inverclyde, North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, South Ayrshire and West Dunbartonshire.
