Man to stand trial on drugs charges

A 37-year-old Cam­bus­lang man has ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court to face charges of driv­ing while un­der the in­flu­ence of drink or drugs.

Steven Brown, of 39 Bel­mont Road, Cam­bus­lang, is charged with driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence on Stonelaw Road, Ruther­glen, on June 14, 2014.

Brown is also ac­cused of pos­sess­ing Tra­madol while on bail, pos­sess­ing class B drug cannabis resin, and pos­sess­ing di­azepam – all on the same date on Stonelaw Road.

He is also charged with fail­ing to pro­vide a spec­i­men of blood while on bail on June 19.

Brown is also ac­cused of driv­ing on Mor­ven Road, Cam­bus­lang on April 15 while un­der the in­flu­ence of drink or drugs.

He faces an ad­di­tional charge of be­ing in pos­ses­sion of di­azepam and class B di­hy­drocodeine on April 15 at Aaron Ter­race, Cam­bus­lang.

He de­nies the charges and will stand trial at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on Oc­to­ber 19.
