MP and Cllr team up for surgery

Rutherglen Reformer - - News - Niki Tennant

The first ever joint surgery between an SNP MP and an SNP councillor will take place in Cambuslang later this week.

Margaret Ferrier MP and Councillor Clare McColl will hold the surgery at Morrisons supermarket from noon on Friday, October 2.

Whilst both politicians hold regular surgeries of their own, they hope this joint surgery will enable local residents to address a wider range of issues, both at local and national levels.

Ms Ferrier said: “This will be the first of many such joint surgeries.

“I’ve had a lot of people attend my surgeries with council matters, and this joint surgery will enable those people to have direct access to a councillor who can take up their case directly.

Councillor McColl added: “The reason for the SNP’s surge in support in this area is because we deliver results for constituents.

“If you have any problem that you would like to speak to your councillor or MP about for help or advice, then please come along to Morrisons on Friday - no appointment necessary.”
