Volunteers get together for a clean-up

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Friends of Cambuslang Park held their autumn clean-up last week and once again proved it was a massive success.

The weather stayed fine for the hardy volunteers who managed to collect several bags of litter.

Among those helping out was the 150th Glasgow Scout Group who proved to be a real help in keeping the park tidy.

Edward Cais, chair of Friends of Cambuslang Park, said:“It is lovely when young people can have fun whilst doing an environmentally beneficial job.

“Many thanks to the 150th and others who joined us for the afternoon.”

The park is once again proudly flying its Green Flag for 2015/16 which it has now achieved for two years running.

The group have helped transform the park in recent years, running a variety of events for the community.

Among them are there annual fun day, bark in the park, history and heritage events, and the teddy bears picnic for the kids.
