Patricia meets up with Hollywood star
International actor signs up for charity appeal
Former Burnside woman Pat r i c i a Osborne found herself hobnobbing with the stars recently.
Patricia, who used to be a councillor in the area, is the chief executive of the Brittle Bone Society, a charity who support people with osteogenesis imperfecta.
And she was delighted to secure Hollywood actor Brian Cox to deliver the charity’s BBC Charity Appeal which was broadcast on Sunday, September 27.
Patricia met with the actor in March this year to work with him on the script for the charity appeal.
The charity just aired the first of their BBC Radio 4 charity appeals – with a repeat due this Thursday. They also recently enjoyed a bit of exposure on BBC Countryfile showcasing the BBC Children in Need call to the nation to get out rambling on October 10 and 11.
Patricia said “It was amazing to receive the support and backing from such a big international actor.
“This great step forward comes just after we secured a very prestigious addition to our trustee board in naming Professor Faisal Ahmed who currently works at the new South Glasgow Hospital, to join the trustee board.
“Professor Ahmed is internationally renowned in his field of research and has long been a supporter of the work of the charity.
“The charity couldn’t be busier at present and are recruiting staff to manage their increasing workload.”
