Park event look­ing for help

Friends of Over­toun Park are host­ing a clean-up of the park later this month.

The group have con­firmed de­tails for the Perk up the Park event which will take place on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 24.

The event is look­ing for peo­ple to turn out to help them give Over­toun a once over.

As well as lit­ter pick­ing, there will be bulb plant­ing.

Over­toun Com­mu­nity Grow­ing Pro­ject will be run­ning an arts and crafts ses­sion for chil­dren too.

Bulb planters and lit­ter pick­ers will be pro­vided, and there will be tea and cof­fee avail­able.

A spokesper­son for the group said: “This event has been a suc­cess for us in the past with a great turn out from the com­mu­nity to help keep our park a beau­ti­ful and clean place for ev­ery­one to use.

“Please join us again this year and share the word with friends and fam­ily. The more the mer­rier.

“Please note t hat all chil­dren must be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult.

“This is a free event open to the whole com­mu­nity.”
