Two members of a Rutherglen slimming group have been named ‘Women of the Year.’

Karen Coyle has lost six stone.

She vowed to become strong and healthy to be able to care for her two daughters, one of whom has autism.

Slimming World consultant Carol Downes says she couldn’t be more proud of her.

Also travelling from the south side of Glasgow to attend the Rutherglen club is Amanda Mardon, who recently achieved her seven and a half stone weight loss award since joining in February.

Carol said: “She totally blows me away with her commitment to be healthy. I have no doubt whatsoever that she will achieve her target weight in the not so distant future – and what a party we are going to have!

“She is so supportive of everyone else in the group and is a pure joy to have as a member. They both are.”
