Castleton win IKEA competition
sustainable ways of working.
“Lots of schools responded after researching our web site and the history of IKEA. Our store committee picked out the top 3 schools and invited them in to present to us in anyway shape or form the children wanted to.
“From songs, narration and presentations all three schools were amazing.
“However there had to be one school and that was the tough part.
“After long and hard discussions with the committee we chose Castleton Primary for the way you could see they lived their values in everything they did throughout the day, togetherness being one of their strongest.
“They looked out for one another from P1 to P7 every one of them a credit to the school.
“We all had a store tour talking about some of our sustainable products, how they are sourced, made and transported to the many stores and our customers’ homes.
“We looked at the recycling area which was great for them to see where all our cardboard and plastic goes to.
“We finished with a nice lunch in the customer restaurant before the children made their way back to school. We had a great three days with amazing children who inspired us with their enthusiasm and knowledge.”
