“Lots of schools re­sponded af­ter re­search­ing our web site and the history of IKEA. Our store com­mit­tee picked out the top 3 schools and in­vited them in to present to us in any­way shape or form the chil­dren wanted to.

“From songs, nar­ra­tion and pre­sen­ta­tions all three schools were amaz­ing.

“How­ever there had to be one school and that was the tough part.

“Af­ter long and hard dis­cus­sions with the com­mit­tee we chose Castle­ton Pri­mary for the way you could see they lived their val­ues in ev­ery­thing they did through­out the day, to­geth­er­ness be­ing one of their strong­est.

“They looked out for one another from P1 to P7 ev­ery one of them a credit to the school.

“We all had a store tour talk­ing about some of our sus­tain­able prod­ucts, how they are sourced, made and trans­ported to the many stores and our cus­tomers’ homes.

“We looked at the re­cy­cling area which was great for them to see where all our card­board and plas­tic goes to.

“We fin­ished with a nice lunch in the cus­tomer res­tau­rant be­fore the chil­dren made their way back to school. We had a great three days with amaz­ing chil­dren who inspired us with their en­thu­si­asm and knowl­edge.”
