For laughs at Westwood

An award-winning comedian is set to bring his new stand-up show to Lanarkshire on Friday, October 9.

Comic, TV and radio presenter and actor, Des McLean, will perform at the Westwood Bar as part of his 2015 stand up tour

The Former Clyde 1 Breakfast co-host has recently appeared in Iain Pattison’s critically acclaimed play‘I Tommy’, about the life of politician Tommy Sheridan.

He also went on tour with his very own special A to Z of Scotland show during 2014.

With some of the biggest names in the business starting to notice and comment on his extraordinary talent, Des can’t wait to unleash his stack of new material on this nationwide comedy tour.

On the radio, Des did a spoof of Billy Connolly’s world tour of Scotland series, with a special ‘world tour of East Kilbride.’

And his comedy went down a storm with the people of Lanarkshire.

A large chunk of his second DVD ‘talking about live’ was filmed in East Kilbride as a result.

This will be the first time Des has played the Westwood and he said “all these years singing along to Aztec Camera’s ‘Somewhere In My Heart’ and I didn’t know that when Roddy Frame sang “from Westwood to Hollywood,” he was singing about his local in EK!

Des was approached by John Smith the owner of the Westwood Bar, a big comedy fan, and asked if he fancied trying this venue out this time round on the tour.

Des said “I always check out all the venues . John Westwood had set out upstairs at the venue like a theatrestyle comedy club and it looked amazing!”

Tickets are £10, available from venue and online. http://de
