McColl looks for a big improvement
Shotts cup tie a major test for Cambuslang men
Cambuslang Rangers boss Paul McColl has admitted there is room for improvement ahead of his side’s cup tie with Shotts Bon Accord on Saturday.
Gers have now suffered back-toback league defeats going into the game and McColl said he hoped they could cut out the “silly” mistakes that cost them dearly against Ashfield last weekend.
He said: “It wasn’t a great performance on Saturday. It was just one of those days with lack of personel.
“In the second half we conceded some poor goals and the first goal was a mistake where the keeper could have maybe done a bit better.
“It was just silly goals, the second goal was a bit scrappy.
“We had to put a right winger into right- back and we had a few guys missing so we had to switch things about.
“There were four away on holiday and some were injured but there are no excuses, we had the men there to do the business.
“I wasn’t too happy with the firsthalf performance.
“We are only a point behind second place, so it is still early days.
“I’m hoping to get everybody back for next Saturday and, hopefully, we can bounce back.
“We’ve started the season well. It is quite an even league this year.
“Anybody can beat anybody in this league but we’ll need to do a bit better
