Last week community officers in Cambuslang received reports of four theft by housebreakings in the area.

Officers acted immediately and began speaking to residents within the local community, gathering evidence to arrest the individual responsible. Following a positive line of enquiry, in the early hours of Wednesday, October 7, we arrested a 41-year-old man who was charged with four alleged housebreaking offences.

The man was held in custody to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on October 8 where he was remanded in custody.

This sends a strong message to any individual considering committing this despicable crime.

We will not tolerate these crimes being committed in our community and will do all we can to brings those responsible to justice

I would advise all residents to continue to adopt simple crime prevention advice by ensuring your house alarm is working and set when you are leaving your property or going to bed at night. Timer switches for lights are also a great way to help make your property less appealing to thieves.

Local officers also received
