Simp­son on trial for mur­der

A man is to stand trial ac­cused of stab­bing a Cathkin mum-of-four to death.

Craig Simp­son ap­peared at the High Court in Glas­gow where he faced a charge of mur­der­ing Mar­garet Quinn.

Pros­e­cu­tors al­lege Simp­son at­tacked the 36-year-old at a prop­erty in the town on June 12 this year.

The 35- year- old also faces an ac­cu­sa­tion of at­tempt­ing to mur­der John Paul Quinn at the same ad­dress on that day.

Simp­son is fur­ther charged with be­ing in pos­ses­sion of di­azepam at a po­lice sta­tion.

His QC Derek Ogg en­tered not guilty pleas on his be­half.

Judge Lord Ban­natyne set a trial due to start in April in Glas­gow.
