Ladies are on par at tri-am golf event

Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen Sports coun­cil were de­lighted to take part re­cently in this year’s EK In­ter­na­tional Sport Tri-Am Golf event held at Tor­rance Golf Course in East Kil­bride.

This an­nual event is held to raise funds to sup­port young ath­letes to com­pete in other coun­tries and fea­tured 20 teams of three tak­ing part, en­joy­ing a game of golf and lunch.

El­iz­a­beth Ar­buckle Chair­man of the Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang Sports coun­cil said.“We are de­lighted to sup­port such a great com­mu­nity event”.

The three lo­cal ladies rep­re­sent­ing Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen Sports coun­cil were Chris­tine Young, Carol Downes and Elaine Wil­son.

The sports coun­cil is a pri­mar­ily vol­un­tary or­gan­i­sa­tion with the main re­spon­si­bil­ity of pro­mot­ing in­ter­est and par­tic­i­pa­tion in sport and or­gan­is­ing events and cham­pi­onships within in the Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang area.

The pro­mo­tion of par­tic­i­pa­tion of sports is car­ried out by the sports coun­cil’s ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee ap­pointed yearly at the sports coun­cil’s agm.
