Local comic Des Clarke was getting ready for panto last week... oh yes he was!

The King’s Park funnyman was snapped in costume as the King’s Theatre announced the full cast for this year’s show, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

Des will be playing Muddles in the panto, which is his fourth year at the King’s.

Des has previously spoken of how proud he is to be treading the boards at the King’s.

He said: “I grew up going to pantos at the King’s and there’s so many legendary names that have taken part in it, like Stanley Baxter, and Gerard Kelly.

“To be a part of it is a major honour.”

Des was recently back in Rutherglen, as he performed at the Town Hall as part of his current tour The Trouble With Being Des.

He’d launched the show at the Edinburgh Festival last year.

He’ll be joined at the King’s by the likes of Gregor Fisher, who will be playing Hector the Henchman, and Juliet Cadzow as the Wicked Queen.

King’s panto regular Jenny Hayley-Douglas will play the title character and singer Allan Jay is Prince Lorenzo.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is written and directed by Eric Potts, choreographed by Ian West, with lighting design by John Tapster and musical direction from Pamela McLennan.

Snow White is on at the King’s from Thursday December 4 until Sunday January 10.
