Pump­kin power will be a big treat

A five-day pump­kin fes­ti­val is on the way for Castlemilk Park.

The spook-tastic event is aim­ing to build on the suc­cess of pre­vi­ous Hal­loween events in the woods and the fes­ti­val will have a se­ries of dif­fer­ent events and ac­tiv­i­ties each day.

Among the events planned are a pump­kin carv­ing on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 24, and a Hal­lowe’en lan­tern pro­ces­sion on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 28, which will take young­sters on a spooky walk through the woods

Other ac­tiv­i­ties planned in­clude mak­ing pump­kin soup, pump­kin pic­tures and pump­kin story telling ses­sions for pre-school chil­dren, with tales pro­vided by the Vil­lage Story Telling Cen­tre.

There will also be a pump­kin view­ing on Oc­to­ber 27 that will have over 200 pump­kins on dis­play.
