School pupils urged to go global

Sec­ondary school pupils in Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang are be­ing urged to en­ter a global en­vi­ron­men­tal com­pe­ti­tion.

Keep Scot­land Beau­ti­ful is re­mind­ing the public that its Young Re­porters Scot­land pro­gramme is still open for en­tries.

The re­sponse fol­low­ing the launch in May has seen young peo­ple from 22 lo­cal author­i­ties across Scot­land register to take part in the com­pe­ti­tion but there is time for more sub­mis­sions which in­ves­ti­gate an en­vi­ron­men­tal prob­lem or sus­tain­abil­ity is­sue.

It is open to all young peo­ple from aged 11 to 21, with par­tic­i­pa­tion reg­is­tered through the Keep Scot­land Beau­ti­ful web­site.

En­tries can be in a range of media, in­clud­ing ar­ti­cles, blogs, videos, an­i­ma­tions and pho­to­graphs.Young peo­ple can register as in­di­vid­u­als or through a com­mu­nity group or school. Visit www. keep­scot­land­beau­ti­ful. org for de­tails.
