Young Adam is Hoff for a starring role in Panto
A super talented Coatbridge youngster will share a stage with David Hasselhoff and The Krankies after wowing judges during open auditions.
Adam Cornes is off to Neverland this winter to play John Darling in the pantomime ‘Peter Pan’ at Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium.
The nine-year-old shone at the open auditions held by the SECC and will rotate the role with Zack Molyneaux, 11, during the Panto’s three-week run.
He will go head-to-head with The Hoff’s Captain Hook, share jokes with The Krankies and enjoy a siren song from ex-Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus, who plays the role of Mimi the Mermaid.
Michelle was also part of the auditioning team that hired young Adam and she was very impressed by the standard of the youngsters taking part.
She said: “We attracted a lot of very talented young people at the open auditions and it was an extremely tough decision to make.
“As part of the audition children were presented with a prepared monologue, poem or rhyme and also read from a short except from the script.”
She added: “They all did a really wonderful job and we were delighted to select Adam for the role.”
Peter Pan runs at the Clyde Auditorium from December 12 to January 3.
Tickets cost between £14 and £29.50 and are available from the box office on 0141 248 3000 or at www.secc.co.uk
