News that Pauline Cafferkey had been taken to hospital for Ebola a second time sparked debate on our social media sites this week.

Jennifer Aitken said: “She is a nurse herself, knowing her history she went to the Victoria Infirmary out of hours, then the Queen Elizabeth putting countless others at risk.

“She should have phoned up told her situation and been put in isolation straight away.

“Plus the fact she had visited a school only days before, a bit of common sense goes a long way.”

But Pauline Lynch defended the health worker, saying: “She obviously didn’t know that she had it again so to put the blame on the poor girl is disgusting.

“Also to even attend out of hours she would have to have contacted NHS 24 and they would have been the ones to make the call on whether she should attend the out of hours service or not. “People are too quick to jump the gun.” And Louize Spring added: “Hope she recovers soon x”
