The football team at Spittal Primary School in Rutherglen were presented with their new strips for the upcoming season.

The boys in blue had outworn their old uniforms and were given a helping hand by a pharmacy situated across the road to the school.

Kyle Square Pharmacy, who had provided the team with strips four years ago, bought their neighbours a new set of tops, shorts and socks before their season kicks off at a 7-aside tournament on Monday.

Hazel Rennie, a nursery teacher and football team coach at the school, said: “Some of the boys went to pick the colour and now they have the school badge on them. “They are really proud to wear the strip. “The boys have a tournament on Monday so that will be the first chance they get to wear their new strips. They are really looking forward to it.”

David Dryden, one of the owners at Kyle Square Pharmacy, said:“We are proud to sponsor the local primary school and hope they have a successful season in their new strips.”
