Police in appeal for witnesses to assault
Police are continuing inquiries into an assault that took place in Rutherglen on Friday, October 17.
A disturbance took place involving around five to six people wearing hooded tops outside Butlers Bar at the junction of Blackfaulds Road.
Two males were seen running from the direction of Acredyke Road onto Newfield Place, into Butlers Bar, one appeared to be armed with a weapon.
One male was described as wearing a red/burgundy hooded top the other a black hooded top.
This disturbance continued ,with the males involved running between Newfield Place and Blackfaulds Road. A short time later, around 12.05am on Saturday, October 18, an incident took place at an address in Acredyke Road which involved a group of five to six males attending at this address, possibly in a white van and assaulting a male and vandalising the vehicle parked outside.
Detective Sergeant Susie Cairns from Cambuslang CID commented,“This was a violent attack and we are appealing for anyone that was in the area at this time who may have witnessed the incident to contact us on 101.”
