Burn­side to bloom all year

Com­mu­nity group Burn­side and Bloom will launch their first cal­en­dar next Fri­day, Novem­ber 6.

They will also be un­veil­ing the win­ners of their pho­tog­ra­phy com­pe­ti­tion, with the vic­tors hav­ing the hon­our of their pic­tures ap­pear­ing in the cal­en­dar.

The judg­ing team in­cluded Burn­side in Bloom mem­bers Ma­colm Piggot, Lu­cille McNab and Joan McNab and Re­former pho­tog­ra­pher Tom Dick.

The project was a ma­jor fundrais­ing ef­fort on the part of the group.

Res­i­dents will be able to pick up their cal­en­dars for £7.99 or £14 for two.

It will be on sale in a num­ber of shops in Burn­side and at Tesco Burn­side.

Burn­side in Bloom was launched as an off­shoot of Burn­side Com­mu­nity Coun­cil in 2011.

It has or­gan­ised a range of events and ini­tia­tives and runs an an­nual gala day for the com­mu­nity.
