Urban Roots are hosting a spooky Hallowe’en family gathering at Malls Mire between Rutherglen and Toryglen.

The event will take place between 4pm and 6.30pm on Saturday, October 31.

There will be spooky storytelling round the campfire, pumpkin and turnip carving ( pumpkins and turnips will be provided for free), lots of spooky crafts, zombie face painting and a chance to make your very own lantern before the lantern parade round the woods at dusk.

The event is completely free and there’s no need to book. There will also be free food and drinks.

Anything made on the day will be yours to take home.

A spokesperson said: “The main event will take place at the community base but we’ll definitely get out for a lantern parade round the woods at dusk and a spooky story round the fire.

“So, please just head into the community base (where the community cafe is).

“I’ll leave some pumpkins out to show the way.”

The community base is at 179 Prospecthill Circus.
