Stay warm this winter
NHS Scotland has recommended Rutherglen and Cambuslang residents take precautions to avoid becoming ill during the Christmas period.
Staying warm in the winter months can help prevent cold, flu and more serious health problems such as heart attacks.
According to the NHS website those most at risk of health problems related to the cold weather are those aged 65 years and over, those on low incomes because they cannot afford heating, and people who already suffer from serious health problems, such as lung disease.
To protect yourself against the flu, people eligible for the free vaccination can contact their GP.
The advice for those who are older is to wear plenty of clothes and also to keep your house warm.
Those who struggle to afford heating bills may qualify for Cold Weather Payments or Winter Fuel Payments to help with the cost of heating their homes.
