Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Rutherglen pubs reacted to the newly introduced smoking ban by trying to set up beer gardens - with three pubs submitting plans to have outdoor areas attached to their buildings.

The future of Rutherglen Post Office was to be finally decided in talks between the company and South Lanarkshire Council.

It was claimed that Cambuslang Public Park could be chosen as a modern version of the Great Exhibition, after two artists proposed a temporary palace of art be built in the park.

Scores of customers of a local travel agent were left panic stricken after the firm went bust.

Residents of a Cambuslang housing scheme failed in a bid to have a play park removed, despite complaining that it had become a drinking den for yobs.
