Spiders could face Rose or Wick in Cup
Queen’s Park will face either Wick Academy or Linlithgow Rose away from home in the fourth round of the William Hill Scottish Cup if they overcome Forfar Athletic on Saturday in a replay.
The Spiders, who last won the competition in 1893, could face the possibility of a 545-mile return trip to face Wick who sit sixth in the Highland Football League.
However if Junior East Super League side, Linlithgow Rose perform a cup upset, Queen’s could endure a tricky tie away at Prestonfield Park.
Rose also sit sixth in their respective league table, four points off leaders Bonnyrigg Rose.
Queen’s boss Gus MacPherson said: “Away from home it’s a bit like going into the unknown for either Queen’s Park or Forfar.
“Certainly for the current squad of players, it will be a new experience.
“We’ve got a tough enough task with Forfar to play away from home first.
“I don’t think anyone can get distracted, our toughest game just now is Forfar.”
The draw, which was made on Tuesday, December 1, saw the holders, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, be given an away tie with the winners of Cumbernauld Colts or Stirling Albion.
