McLachlan eyes his quarter century

Muay Thai kickboxing World Champion Keith McLachlan is aiming to bag the 25th victory of his career with a bout against Thailand’s Superkim on Saturday.

The Croftfoot man knotched another win earlier this month against French number one Ahmed Moutfi.

He knocked his opponent out in the second round and will look to repeat the same actions this weekend.

Fighter Keith holds the IMF World title amongst seven other honours, including the WBC International and National titles.

Despite the huge haul of prizes, Keith cannot understand how the sport fails to gain the recognition he feels it deserves.

He said:“Our sport is less dangerous than boxing.

“Boxing is predominately about head knocks — whereas Thai boxing is far less concentration on blows to the head.

“Also UFC gets far more coverage, and for that’s becoming a bit of a farce — its getting more like WWE wrestling.”

The fight will take place at the ON-X Arena, in Linwood, Paisley on December 5.
