Couple guilty of child charges
A Rutherglen couple have been found guilty of wilfully ill-treating a child at an address in the town.
Michael Murray and Charlene Waters, both aged 29, neglected the boy in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health.
They also failed to supervise the child, aged three, who was exposed to dangers including a hot iron which was plugged in and on the floor, cannabis and a craft knife with open blade also on the floor.
There were electric plugs which were not properly attached to the wall exposing live wires; and unsanitary and unhygienic living conditions.
Both accused were in possession of cannabis and Murray behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing.
The offences took place on June 21, this year.
This week at Glasgow Sheriff Court sentence on the pair was deferred until December 29.
