Healthy n Happy is offering res­i­dents of Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen help to re­duce the amount of en­ergy (gas and elec­tric­ity) they are us­ing and help them heat their homes.

Now win­ter is here it is all too com­mon for peo­ple to strug­gle with pay­ing their fuel bills or heat­ing their home.

The Green Team, a new ini­tia­tive funded by Cli­mate Chal­lenge Fund, aims to ad­vise lo­cal res­i­dents on how some sim­ple be­havioural changes can make a sig­nif­i­cant im­pact es­pe­cially through the colder months.

They can also re­fer on to spe­cial­ist agen­cies for help with fuel debt or for grant as­sis­tance with things such as home in­su­la­tion and re­plac­ing your boiler or heat­ing sys­tem.The project is part of a wider ef­fort to re­duce fuel poverty and en­ergy consumption in Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen by four per cent.
