A Ruther­glen man faces charges of sec­tar­i­an­ism.

Don­ald Has­son,of Castlemilk Road, is al­leged to have be­haved in a threat­en­ing man­ner, fol­lowed David McGuire and Marc Mal­loy and shouted, swore and re­peat­edly ut­tered sec­tar­ian re­marks.

It is claimed the of­fences took place on De­cem­ber 26, 2014, at Castlemilk Road and in a po­lice ve­hi­cle.

Has­son (50) faces a fur­ther charge that he failed to ap­pear at a diet while on bail.

This week at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court, Has­son de­nied the charges and trial was set for Jan­uary 8, 2016.

A Ruther­glen man is al­leged to have to as­saulted a man and made racial com­ments.

Al­lan El­lis (38) of Lochiel Lane, is be­lieved to have punched the man on his face at Lo­vat Place, Ruther­glen on July 13, 2014.

El­lis was also charged with act­ing in a racially-ag­gra­vated man­ner which caused alarm and dis­tress and ut­ter­ing racially of­fen­sive com­ments.

This week at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court El­lis pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Trial was fixed for De­cem­ber 11, 2015.
