A Cambuslang church raised over £2000 at its annual Christmas fayre despite horrendous weather at the weekend.

Residents flocked to the Flemington and Hallside Parish Church in Halfway on Saturday to enjoy some of the festive fun in spite of Storm Desmond’s best efforts to ruin the day.

Along with stalls selling gifts and baked goods there were also activities and games for the kids to get into the Christmas spirit.

Rev Neil Glover was happy with how the day turned out.

He said: “We were delighted with the response to our Christmas Fayre, especially given the terrible weather that there was on Saturday.

“Once again the halls were crowded with people picking up Christmas gifts and enjoying the excellent home baking.

“We had a great team of people putting the event together, and were hugely grateful to raise £2,921 on the day, with the total rising through the week.”

We’ll have more pictures from the fayre next week.
