Police and pupils have crimes cards marked
Rutherglen Police have taken a festive approach to keeping school children safe this Christmas.
The force have been delivering Christmas cards, designed by pupils, near local schools reminding those nearby to keep their eyes open for anything suspicious.
The focus has been on Calderwood Primary in Rutherglen and Park View Primary in Cambuslang.
PC Greg Roberton, of the safer communities department, said:“As always, our local crime prevention panel go that extra mile to help our local community by providing information on crime prevention measures.
“The cards, made by children from both schools, displayed a message within - keep our school safe this Christmas and were designed for properties overlooking schools to keep an eye on the school whilst the children enjoy their festive break.
“In the past this initiative has been very effective.
“The cards were hand made by the children and the panel even said they were some of the best they have ever seen.
“Sincere thanks go to the panel for distributing the cards and to both schools for taking part in this worthwhile community led initiative.”
